The responsible breeding of pedigreed cats preserves the distinct characteristics of individual pedigreed breeds and ensures the continuation of predictable physical and behavioral traits for future generations. Each pedigreed breed has a Standard describing the ideal specimen for the breed. The judge in the class must evaluate each cat, placing awards based on which cats best represent the Standard. You strive as a breeder to produce a cat that can compete for the various awards to reach the title of Grand Champion or Grand Premier. Grand Points and Regional / National Points are automatically awarded based on wins achieved at cat shows. Grand Points are accumulated throughout a cat's show career until they achieve the points required to be awarded the title of Grand Champion or Grand Premier for the altered class.
